Dave is an experienced and highly qualified HR consultant, with more than 35 years of experience in human resource management and development. He was chair of the Merseyside Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development from 2008-11, responsible for the continuous professional development programme for more than 4,000 HR professionals. He is also Chair of Liverpool City Council's Independent Remuneration Panel. Dave has managed a range of HR and training services and his training team was successful in achieving a National Training Award in 2007, for their Equality Action Training.

Dave is a qualified English teacher, a graduate of the Institute of Personnel Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.

Dave was a director of People Solutions North West Ltd from 2011-2021 and previously was Head of HR in a large charity – responsible for all aspects of strategic and operational human resource management. Prior to this, he was responsible for a range of strategic HR development projects in a local authority with a workforce of more than 26,000 employees

Dave has a wealth of experience in this field, both in terms of knowledge of legislation and how to achieve inclusive workplace environments. He has a track record of success in promoting and achieving greater equality. His achievements include:

• setting up employment programmes for people with disabilities and from various BME communities

• advising Job Centre Plus on best practice in the recruitment of Deaf people

• achieving a profile of 50% disabled employees in the successful delivery of various services

In 2009, the pioneering work Dave achieved with Deaf people from different racial minority communities, received national recognition from the Equality & Human Rights Commission and the government. The success of the project resulted in a visit from the Director of the EHRC and Cabinet Minister visiting the project to evidence the unique achievements of this project, first hand.
